His Grace Tapana Miśra Dāsa
His Grace Tapana Miśra Dāsa is a member of the Governing Body Commission (GBC), Minister of the ISKCON Ministry of Education, and a senior leader dedicated to the development of education, leadership, and organizational excellence within the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
He first came into contact with ISKCON in 1997 while studying at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Over the following decades, he gained experience serving Krishna consciousness in a wide variety of settings, including university preaching, temple life, congregational development, regional leadership, and residence in the holy dhāma of Śrīdhāma Māyāpur. He currently resides in Māyāpur with his wife, Indira-sakhi Devī Dāsī, and their two daughters, Kṛṣṇāṅgī and Gaurāṅgī.
Before dedicating himself full-time to devotional service, Tapana Miśra Dāsa built a distinguished professional career in finance and corporate governance. He managed investments for major financial institutions and served as a government-appointed member of the boards of directors of several multi-billion-dollar enterprises. In 2014, at the age of thirty-six, inspired by his spiritual master, His Holiness Bhakti Vikāsa Swami, the teachings of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, and the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, he voluntarily left his corporate career to dedicate himself fully to ISKCON’s mission.
Within ISKCON, Tapana Miśra Dāsa serves as Minister of the Ministry of Education and Director of the Global Duty Officers (GDO) Office. He is also a Voting Member of the Governing Body Commission and serves on several key international committees, including the GBC Organizational Development Committee, the GBC Nominations Committee, the Mayapur Master Plan Coordination Committee, and the Mayapur Strategic Planning Committee.
A dedicated educator and trainer, he regularly teaches and facilitates courses in Bhakti-vaibhava, Bhakti-śāstrī, GBC College, and ISKCON Leadership and Management programs. He has played a significant role in developing leadership education and organizational training throughout the Society.
Tapana Miśra Dāsa was also instrumental in establishing and supporting ISKCON’s preaching in a particularly challenging country in the Middle East, a service he continues to supervise.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, along with several professional qualifications. Within ISKCON, he has completed advanced leadership and educational programs, including the GBC College for Leadership Zonal Supervisor certification and the GBC Guru Services Committee Spiritual Leadership Diploma.
Having traveled to more than fifty countries, Tapana Miśra Dāsa continues to share Śrīla Prabhupāda’s teachings through lectures, educational initiatives, leadership training, and organizational development, contributing significantly to ISKCON’s global educational mission.
